De captivants à banals, les articles et photographies de “The Baguette” sont une tentative de publier un journal de ma vie dans la Manche et de proposer un forum de discussion pour tout ce qui touche à la Normandie.
While waiting for class to start at Maison Pour Tous, I found myself enjoying the cherry blossoms along Avenue de Normandie. It seemed no matter where I looked, I could find a little bit of Japan--the Shinto gate in Gâtinais park nearby evoked strong memories of my time there.
The pink petals were falling like snow and as I went to put away my camera, I saw the Japanese flag unintentionally represented along the wall of my school.
Coincidence ?
During World War II, the Japanese people were encouraged by their government to believe that the souls of dead soldiers, especially those that drowned, were reincarnated in the cherry blossoms. This seems rather apt in the current situation with so many dead from the recent earthquake and tsunami. My heart goes out to the people of Japan.
Earthquake, tsunami.
This small country is hurting.
See what you can do.
